A Bit About Myself

Lori Middleton, RD, LDN, IBCLC

I'm so excited, honored and blessed to be writing this post! To those of you taking the time to read this, I look forward to connecting with you! My name is Lori Middleton, I grew up in Pueblo West, CO and continued growing my family there with my husband of 12 years, 5 year old son, cat and 2 dogs. They are all the best part of my day! I operated my private practice there a little over 1 year and loved it so much! We recently moved to Riverview, Florida and I still feel a strong pull to continue serving my community here.

Before I graduated from high school, I knew I wanted to become a Registered Dietitian. Growing up with Celiac Disease, an autoimmune disease that requires eating a gluten free diet for the rest of my life, I wanted to help guide others with special dietary needs. I completed my Bachelor's of Science in Dietetics and passed the registration exam to become a Registered Dietitian in 2015. I've been blessed to work with local families in the community health setting, which is where I found my even deeper passion for breastfeeding. In the winter of 2020 I sat for and passed the exam to become an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. I breastfed my son for 3 years, which allows me to bring a personal and as well as professional view to the lactation support I provide.

My mission is to empower mothers and families to advocate for themselves regarding their health, nutrition and breastfeeding concerns and goals. I hope to care for anyone needing assistance with breastfeeding/lactation or nutrition during lactation.
