Lori Middleton, RD, LD, IBCLC
I'm so excited, honored and blessed to be writing this post! To those of you taking the time to read this, I look forward to connecting with you! My name is Lori Middleton, I grew up in Pueblo West, CO and continued growing my family there with my husband, son, and fur babies. They are all the best part of my day! We moved to Riverview, Florida in 2022 and enjoy the Florida sunshine and time with family.
Before I graduated from high school, I knew I wanted to become a Registered Dietitian. Growing up with Celiac Disease, an autoimmune disease that requires eating a gluten free diet for the rest of my life, I wanted to help guide others with special dietary needs. I completed my Bachelor's of Science in Dietetics and passed the registration exam to become a Registered Dietitian in 2015. I've been blessed to work with local families in the community health setting, which is where I found my even deeper passion for breastfeeding. In the winter of 2020 I sat for and passed the exam to become an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. I breastfed my son for 3 years, which allows me to bring a personal and as well as professional view to the lactation support I provide. I currently work full time in a clinical and outpatient setting providing nutrition counseling as a dietitian, but my love for providing lactation support continues!
My mission is to empower mothers and families to advocate for themselves regarding their health, nutrition and breastfeeding concerns and goals. I hope to care for anyone needing assistance with breastfeeding/lactation or nutrition during lactation.
